30 dead in three months in Kathmandu Valley

30 people were killed in several road accidents in the past three months in the capital. 

Likewise, 31 persons were critically injured and 731 sustained minor injuries in the 975 road accidents during the period, according to information shared at a press conference organized by the Division Office of the Traffic Police on Thursday.

According to Chief of the Division Office, DIG Keshav Adhikari , a total sum of Rs.11 million has been raised from 11,550 persons from anti-drunken driving campaign. Also the traffic police have raised Rs. 48.7 million in revenue from 176,999 drivers for breaching traffic rules from June 15 to October 1.

During the period, the traffic police punched holes in 10,338 driving licenses for violating the traffic rules while action against 3,114 vehicles were taken for blowing pressure horns going against the traffic law.

Likewise, action have been taken against 1,220 public vehicles for not following the criteria for reservation seats, 64 for using black windscreen, and 332 taxi drivers for charging extra fare, said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Adhikari.
