Mumbai, Oct 3 (PTI) Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam has been allegedly threatened by the underworld to cancel his deal with an event management company and sign up with another, purportedly chosen by them, police said today.

Deepika Padukone makes her debut as fashion designer
02 October, Mumbai(PTI): Actress Deepika Padukone has made her debut as a fashion designer with Van Heusen Woman’s ‘Limited Edition’ collection, which she has co-created.
The 27-year-old, who is known for her minimal yet classic style, has pitched in ideas for the collection which is pegged around ‘Old Hollywood’ glamour where classic meets contemporary.
The palate of this co-created line features monochromatic shades for the uber chic, dusty rose pinks and cobalt blue.
“We’ll I’m hardly a designer. I think I am someone who has ideas but I’m not very good at executing. But I’m very open to seeing new things and sharing my ideas and then of course I need people to help me put it all together,” Deepika said in a statement.
“It’s a little bit of what I already have and what I would like to see myself wearing. The collection is really about wearing your own personality. That’s something I’ve always believed in. It’s important to not forget who you are,” she added.
The campaign has been shot in Milan.
“We are absolutely delighted to co-create a line with Deepika Padukone exclusively for Van Heusen. These dresses are an ultimate combination of style, class, modernity and substance. Women fashion followers have been quite influenced by Deepika’s overall charisma and this creation sparkles with her elegant style,” said Vinay Bhopatkar, Brand Head, Van Heusen.

2 october, Mumbai(PTI): Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who launched the official ‘Krrish 3′ merchandise, said he wants to take the franchise across the age groups.
Rakesh and his son actor Hrithik Roshan launched the official ‘Krrish’ 3 merchandise.
The ‘Krrish 3′ collection includes action figures of Krrish, Kaal and Kaya, kids apparel, school supplies, impulse toys such as frisbees and Yo-Yos, skates and etc.
“With the launch of such a huge collection, we want to take ‘Krrish 3′ beyond screens… into the lives of fans across the globe,” Rakesh Roshan said.
More than 150 products will be available in over 5,000 stores. Their prices begin from Rs 99 and go up to Rs 3,499.
“When I was a kid I used to play with pen and pencil and gave them the superhero status. I think with this merchandise we are doing a service to the children of the world,” Hrithik said.

Sanjay Dutt gets 14-day leave from jail on eligibility criteria
Pune, Oct 1 (PTI) Actor Sanjay Dutt today left the Yerawada jail here for Mumbai on a 14-day leave sanctioned to him on eligibility criteria, jail authorities said.
Dutt, serving sentence under the Arms Act for illegal possession of weapons in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, left the prison at around 9.30 AM after his pending application for “furlough” was sanctioned by the authorities, jail superintendent Yogesh Desai told PTI.

30 Sept, London(PTI): Country singer Taylor Swift prefers not to pay attention to all the negative and positive feedback coming her way as it may lead her to insanity.
The 23-year-old singer does not like to obsess about herself by regularly reading about her life and music, reported Contactmusic.
“You can be obsessed with the bad things people say and the good things, either way you’re obsessed with yourself and I’m not – you can become unhinged so easily,” Swift said.
“Vanity can apply to both insecurity and egotism. So I distance myself, because I feel everything. The little I am exposed to hurts my feelings. The only things I can really control are my songs and my behaviour. The rest? If I focused on it that would lead to insanity,” she added.
The ‘Love Story’ hitmaker insists that despite criticisms, a celebrity can still prove to be a good role model.
“There’s room for role models who make mistakes. There’s clearly room for role models who are made fun of at award
shows,” she said.
“Not that I necessarily enjoy being poked fun at, but that’s gonna happen to the fans, too. Whether in a board meeting or in school or on Facebook, where they’ll get humiliated publicly,” she added.
