POKHARA: Ashlesha Gautam (Nisha), a tenth grader at Karunanidhi Education Foundation in Simpani, Pokhara, has disappeared for the last four days after the school head teacher scolded her for not abiding by the code of conduct on the premises of the school since 22 September.
Her school bag, shoes and tie were found on the banks of the Seti River near the school. Nisha’s parents have blamed the irresponsible behaviour of the school administration and demanded action against the school for causing the disappearance of their daughter.
On Sunday, school principal Dilliram Adhikari had scolded Nisha and a boy separately for having an affair. Though Nisha had agreed to stay in school from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, she left school at around 5:00 pm.
The school administration came to know about this when a teacher from a neighbouring school reported he had seen Nisha rushing towards the banks of the Seti River.
The school teachers, parents, students and police had reached the banks of the Seti immediately, but they only found her shoes, bag and tie there. The search for Nisha is on but without any result, said police.
Her parents have demanded that the registration of the school should be scrapped. “A school that can’t deal properly with students should not be allowed to operate,” they said.
Dilliraj Adhikari, the school principal admitted he had scolded the girl instead of handing her to her parents and pledged to negotiate instead of engaging in further arguments.
