Nepal Qualifies for AFC U-16 Football 2014 with Bimal’s Hat-trick

29 Sept- Kathmandu: Nepal has qualified to the second round of AFC Under-16 Football Championship 2014 that is to be held in Thailand next year. Nepal beat Turkmenistan with 4-0 goal difference in final group selection round match held at the Dasharath Stadium on Sunday.

The team captain of the host team Bimal Ghartimagar scored hat-trick to ensure Nepal’s victory over Turkmenistan in its 3rd and final match of the game.

Likewise, another striker Dinesh Rajbamshi had added a goal in the match.

Bimal has so far scored 11 goals from eight internal matches.

With this win, Nepal became the ‘C’ group winner. Earlier in 2006, Nepal had gone through the selection round match.

Nepal secured seven points by registering two wins and one draw in the tournament.

Likewise, Bahrain has secured six points from three matches. Iraq and Turkmenistan had gone outside the selection round. Some 43 Asian countries are taking part in the tournament.

Nepal had defeated Baharain 2-0 in its opening match while it played 2-2 draw against one of the strongest teams Iraq in the 2nd match.
