Police on Monday nabbed Dinesh Acharya, editor of the Share Bazaar Weekly on a complaint filed by businessman,Nirvan Chaudhary under provision of the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008.
Acharya was arrested by the Metropolitan Police for sharing a news on social media site Facebook after Chaudhary complained that the content of news was defamatory his character.
Chaudhary had filed the complaint some two months ago.
According to KP Dhungana, Chairman of the Online Journalists´ Association, Acharya has been made a victim in this case. “It is wrong to implement the provision of faulty Act without proper explanation,” Dhungana added.
According to SSP Subodh Ghimere at Kathmandu Metropolitan police, Acharya was nabbed to be presented at the court the as the case has already reached court.
