1 Oct-Kathmandu: Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, has said the election to the Constituent Assembly was unavoidable and could not be obstructed by any now.
Speaking at a press conference at Tribhuvan International Airport after returning from the US on Tuesday evening, Chairman Regmi urged all not to doubt on CA election. He returned home after participating in the 68th General Assembly of the United Nations in the US.
The CA election has no alternative. Entire country has engrossed on election, he said, adding that the CA election was for constitution writing and social transformation.
Similarly, he said he, in his address to the UN General Assembly, reiterated that the government was devoted to holding CA election successfully.
He also put forth the views on development agenda after 2015 and the strategies Nepal need to adopt for social, economic and cultural transformations. Chairman Regmi expressed commitment on the foreign policy and international relations Nepal has adopted.
“I’ve put forth my views clearly on the problems of climate change, reduction of the climate change problems, human rights protection, guarantee of the rule of law, non-aligned policy, end of the chemical weapons and disarmament,” he said.
In course of participating in the UN General Assembly, the Chairman met UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and informed him that Nepal government was fully committed to holding the CA election successfully for the political stability and inclusive development.
On the occasion, General Secretary Moon expressed happiness over the completion of the peace process in Nepal and pledged assistance for the successful CA elections.

Similarly, Chairman Regmi met with Indian Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh. The Indian Prime Minister also told the Chairman that India was ready to extend any support to Nepal in holding the CA elections.
The Chairman also attended a programme organized by the Nepali community in New York. He inspected Nepal’s permanent mission to the UN.
While returning home, Chairman Regmi attended an interaction organized by Nepali Embassy in Abudhabi and garnered information about the problems Nepalis were facing there.
He was welcomed home by Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire, other ministers, high level officials, chiefs of the diplomatic missions in Nepal and security chiefs at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Chairman Regmi had left here on September 26 for US.
