According to the State, Desmond had his eyes on his sister's back (Linda Chaitezvi) where he found her in the company of an alleged thigh vendor.
On the day in question, Desmond arrived home and saw his sister talking to an alleged 'sex smith' who was only identified as Vengai the 'whore'. Desmond confronted her and acused her of being a prostitute as "birds of the same further flock together". At the height of the altercation, desmond turned violent and thrashed Linda using hands and a wooded stick.
During his mitigation, the 27-year-old brother told the court that he didn't assault her using a stick but he merely used his hands. In ire, she went to report the matter to the police leading to the arrest of her brother before getting medical attention.
