Nepali actress Rekha Thapa asks government to solve Nepali workers’ problem in Qatar

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa was in Qatar recently. Rekha Thapa had met Nepali workers and talked about the problem they are facing there. She was moved by their problems and donated a small sum of money in hopes that it might be of some help. She also met the Nepali ambassador to discuss about the issue.

Rekha says that the situation of Nepali workers  in Qatar is very grave. The officials in Qatar and Nepal need to address the issue immediately. The government of Nepal must immediately act on this problem to bring the victims home safely and insure the safety and basic rights of Nepali workers in Qatar.

The issue got an international attention after The Guardian published a report on modern-day-slavery of Nepali workers in Qatar.
