The series’ first episode was not broadcast on Sunday as the lead actor Kabir Bedi said that Buddha was Indian as he got birth in India. The very statement was more than enough to awaken the aggressive Nepalese for protest on media.
President of Federation of Nepal Cable TV Operator Sudhir Parajuli said that they blocked India’s Zee TV on Sunday from 11:15AM to 12:15PM due to heavy protest on this matter. He also added that the show did not show anything offensive against Nepalese in the very 1st episode and also in the future days they’ll search each and every details of the show’s content before telecast.
Actor Bedi however corrected and take back his words through his tweets in Twitter. He said he misspoke about the birth of Lord Buddha. He asked for forgiveness to those who got hurt and further added that Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal.
